NATURE'S ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE

Top-down co-up shooter from Aniode, in which all humans are zombies and only wild animals remain. Naturally they start using miniguns, maces, and machete-wielding turkeys to fight back. It features a rockin' soundtrack from Roly Witherow.

Crystalline Green ran a successful Kickstarter to raise money for four artists to collaborate on the soundtrack. There are several worlds in the game, each with it's own style of music. I was commissioned for a funk and a dance track.

I'm working on all aspects of audio design for this mini-golf action-puzzler from Qwiboo. It has a fantastic level editor which I used to put together an epic audio test track - check it out in the video above. This one should be released sometime this year.

Tacticrawl is a turn based tactical dungeon crawler by Dean King. It features a complex systems based design, and the audio has to accommodate that. The above is a video of some dev commentary - no audio - footage to come!

FPS horror by Total Monkery, about creepy mannequins that only move when you aren't looking at them. I spend a lot of time in Unity, setting up various sources and triggers, and even writing C# scripts to demo how an audio system should work.

Aniode showed me their entry for Global Game Jam 2016 and I loved it so much, I offered to do some audio. This mostly consisted of original SFX, but also redesigning and processing of a few lo-fi placeholders that needed some polish.

Serene puzzler by Total Monkery. I scored four versions of each in-game music loop that play simultaneously, fading in as you switch character. I didn't handle implementation so worked closely with TM to ensure the music functioned correctly.

Tower defence shoot-em-up hybrid by Simon Dewhirst. I tried the game out at Insomnia 59, got a bit hooked, and offered my services. This is largely a redesign but some of these weapon sounds have been implemented into the current beta build.

I was part of a 3 person team for Asylum Jam, and this was our procedural horror FPS. For sound it came 14th out of 136 games, and you can download it here or watch one of the many let's plays that appeared soon after the jam.


FMOD  |  PROCEDURAL MUSIC EXPERIMENT

I love doing interesting things with music in games, and I'm particularly fond of generative audio. So, I took a very famous theme and turned it into a totally bonkers self-improvising procedural game loop. This takes a fairly in-depth look at how it works.

UNITY  |  AUDIO MANAGER

In preparation for a Unity project, I have started work on a simple audio event system in C#. So far it handles randomisation by sample, volume and pitch, and runs everything through Unity's mixer. This is a very brief look at a few examples running through my script.

FMOD  |  ROCKET LAUNCHER

The Rocket Launcher is a complicated weapon, and consists of three events - the gun, the projectile, and the explosion. This video takes a look at the events in FMOD, with a short gameplay demo to end.

FMOD  |  DANGER DEPENDENT STINGERS

Simply spotting an enemy in this game is a key part of gameplay, and I want the music to support that. This video quickly runs through the increasing danger levels.
